Teagan was the catalyst for Sugar Hill Acres- she started it all. She stole our hearts when we met her at 7 months of age. I had wanted a Gypsy Vanner for over a decade and a half and was ready to make my dream a reality! My husband, Dan and I were visiting West Hill Ranch looking for a tobiano gelding. After seeing many foals, mares, geldings, and stallions we both agreed that we wanted to go back to see the little black filly who had left the hay in her stall to get love from us when we entered. After our second stop at her stall we knew she was meant for us! Within a month Teagan was home with us and Sugar Hill Acres was formed. I'm not sure who choose who that day but I sure am glad the choice was made.
Teagan's mother, Maggie (now deceased) was chosen by Mechelle Barton at the Appleby Fair and imported shortly after. Her father is the breathtaking maximum sabino stallion Son of Lloyds. Her lines include Superior, Lloyds, Vines Bay Mare, Vick Lawrence's Stallion, Paleface, Lob, Henry Horse and many more noteworthy horses. We bred Teagan to NatWest and got the amazing filly Sugar Hill Ailish West. As I write this I am greatly awaiting her Silky Boy foal due in March. Teagan has had 7 months of professional training and impressed everyone at the Morgan Show barn where she was trained with her demeanor, athleticism and beauty. She has blossomed into an amazing mare that we are proud to own. Teagan is a sweet, smart girl with great conformation and plenty of hair!
Teagan received 90 days of training in the Spring of 2014 and received 120 days of training under saddle in Spring 2015. She was one of few non-Morgans at the barn and welcomed many visitors of all ages and impressed them all with her good looks, conformation, intelligence and loving temperament.
Teagan gave birth to a spectacular filly by NatWest in May, 2016. She is adored by her loving owner Michele in Ohio. They won third place in their first ever show (for both of them) in a huge halter class of 16 horses! She is trained to ride and drive and is doing very well in the show ring. Teagan delivered a striking colt by Silky Boy in March of 2018. He was sold within a few weeks and once weaned he moved to Texas with Lori and Kevin.
In 2020 Teagan had a beautiful Black Silver Dapple filly by Sir Royal Fortune that we have retained.
Teagan a high 4 star mare, has produced three outstanding foals. Her foals are excelling in the show ring. In 2019 Bowie qualified for the Gypsy World Championship Show and Ailish was ranked 8th in both Youth Performance and Youth Halter with GVHS as well as unanimously winning (under 3 judges) her first ever driving class which was at a GVHS recognized show. In 2019 Ailish won 4 and over Gypsy Mares and then went Reserve Grand Champion Gypsy Mare at the GVHS rated Great Lake Region Gypsy and Drum Show. We are so proud to announce that SUGAR HILL DAYLIGHT DANCIN' BOWIE is the 2019 GYPSY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS GRAND CHAMPION STALLION. This is an amazing feat especially for a yearling!
