Shimmy was born in the South of England and imported by Gypsy MVP (I believe in 2008) . Her British family used her to pull a flat cart. They had owned her from a yearling and were very reluctant to sell her. Shimmy is a great example of how versatile the breed is. She has found success in the show ring in everything from Western Pleasure to Dressage. She was the Eastern Ontario Level 1 Dressage Champion her first year out. Shimmy has even enjoyed barrel racing, though she is not the fastest around the barrels! Shimmy and Misha show in area open shows and trail ride. Misha and Shimmy won their first championship together three days after Shimmy arrived to NY. They attended the 2016 Massachusetts Equine Affaire where Shimmy received much admiration and praise. After a short year of showing (due to Shimmy arriving after show season had already started and us not having a trailer until November) Shimmy was awarded the Vanner Advantage Award by GVHS for our show and demos in 2016! We could not be more pleased with Shimmy. Shimmy did very well at the NEGHC 2017 Gypsy Show. She was Youth Champion, did very well in trail and got second in a big class of 12 Gypsies in Equitation. At the 2018 NEGHC Gypsy Show Shimmy was English Gypsy Champion and Youth Gypsy Champion. We are very proud of her!
Shimmy embodies the Gypsy disposition, she is easy going, always wanting to please, gentle and loving with everyone, especially our one year old son. She is a once in a lifetime mare. She will do anything you ask of her and she will do it beautifully. Since she has been with us, Shimmy has done two Massachusetts Equine Affaires, breed shows andmany local shows.
Everywhere we go, Equine Affaire or local shows, someone inquires about buying her. They always get the same answer no matter their offer- she will never be for sale.
Shimmy was 2013 Second Level Eastern Ontario Dressage Champion & 2nd overall in Ontario her first year out. She is trained to drive both single and double. She is experienced with parades, exhibitions, demos as well as trails. She has produced several lovely foals.We were looking for a mare that Misha could have fun with and show but would also be good for Dan who is not an experienced rider and also for our son to ride some day. We found all of that in Shimmy. We hope to use Shimmy with the Special Olympics program as well. She has the talent, conformation and disposition we were looking for for riding and our breeding program. Many thanks to Kastle Rock for this wonderful girl.
Shimmy has produced several lovely foals. We have met one colt and spoke to the owners of two mares both out of Shimmy. We have heard nothing but great things about her progeny.
